Jim Farrell
Show nights are a bit full on and there is little time for Blips so I have decided to take the little camera and blip one of the cast/crew for the next week.
this is Jim Farrell who according to the records :
boarded the Titanic at Queenstown as a third class passenger (ticket number 367232, £7 15s). His destination was New York City. He was instrumental in getting the sisters Kate and Mary Murphy, Katie Gilnagh and Kate Mullen through a barricade and to safety by insisting to crewmen blocking their passage "For God's sake man, let the girls past to the boats, at least!" The crewman swiftly complied but locked the gate behind the girls. James Farrel's actions never left the memory of Kate Gilnagh. James died in the disaster. His body was recovered by the MacKay Bennett and he was buried at sea on 24 April 1912.
In the musical there are a few historical inaccuracies and he survives as he is enlisted to row the lifeboat.
Who cares, it was an amazing first night. Just 8 more and I can relax :)
