The show must (not) go on

Took my girls out for a meal and the theatre tonight. It was a fringe production in which one of Jayne's friends (Louisa) was in. At 7.00pm just as we were coming to the end of lovely meal in the Baltic her friend called to say the play had been cancelled due to one of the leading actresses having lost her voice. Wanted to save her voice for tomorrow as it is the last night. Unfortunately we couldn't make it for tomorrow. Ended up in the Union Jack pub opposite with Louisa and a few of the actors. So much for the adage 'the show must go on' eh!...but there were only 11 seats sold (and we were 3 of them) so can understand their decision. An interesting evening.
