Egyptian Geese

Good Friday started warm and sunny with sea blues skies. But by Afternoon the clouds had rolled in. With this the warmth dropped away fast and a northwesterly breeze picked up.
But, it still was felt, that we has to get out the house and take in some air. We headed over to a local House and grounds in Acton, Middlesex.
Gunnersbury House and grounds is a lovely mid 19th century estate. Now amid a sea of 1930s houses. A green oasis in West London, with trees, ponds, follies and large house now a museum.
While sitting eating lunch near one of the ponds. We spotted a beautiful pair of Egyptian Geese swimming amid a small flock of Canada Geese and Tufted Ducks.
These birds are not native to the country, but give a welcome splash colour to any pond or lake. There call is much softer than the other geese and in this case very tame. This maybe be partly due to people who must be feeding them.
Unlike other non-native birds that have set up home in this country. I would love to see them spread and add colour to more ponds and lakes.
