Good Friday Golf
Not me but lots of other people were out playing this morning.
We were out walking and the path at this point (just on from our photo bench from Monday's shot) cuts through the municipal golf course that is part of the St Ives estate.
This is the 18th green and just out of sight is the 19th which is a relatively new building.
The building in the back ground is St Ives Mansion the former home of William Ferrand who was MP for Knareborough in the 17th century and the owner of the whole estate.
Until about 20 years ago it housed the golf club and a tea room and was actually the place where we had our wedding reception - 37 years ago! It is now a young disabled unit and the gardens around it are private. There is an ornamental pond behind it, no longer accessible, which used to be a good place to find frog spawn
Through the trees you can just make out the remaining snow on the hills.
At this point in the day it looked as though it was going to brighten up but it is now raining as it would be on a bank holiday weekend!
