The Splash

This is not the intended blip at all!
After putting some new wwood on the front of the garage, a hair cut, fixing the hosepipe and a gym session, I went to Preston North End's ground to blip The Splash - the statue of Sir Tom Finney - to celebrate Sir Tom's 90th birthday.

Not only is the statue impressive, but so too is the new image of Sir Tom on the front of the stand named after him.
As I put my hand out to get the phone to take the blip, yes, you've guessed, NO PHONE!

So a wasted journey and no blip!

Not to worry a chance to try the new app on my phone to take some different styles of image. But guess what? Blip's software isn't keen on it.
Never mind, here's a more conventional image and there is at least a splash. Not the same as Sir Tom's Splash, but a splash nonethless. Dugswell has captured the statue very well

The pump through which the water is flowing was being thrown out some years ago by a neighbour. Wouldn't take anything for it so we gratefully accepted it, cleaned the rust off, painted it and put it to use.
It still has all the bits inside for it to work as a hand pump for a well. It may need a new rubber seal but that will be all.

Happy Birthday Sir Tom. A true gentleman of the beautiful game
