Smooooth

At least. I think this is a smooth newt, a female, but I'm happy to stand corrected. We did have newts in the garden pond, but I haven't seen any for a few years now. Today, spring resumed and as I was gazing into the very clear water, I spotted her lurking. I don't think she minded too much being fished out for a few minutes to pose for this shot.
