Lake Hurley Burley - ACT

It's pre-Easter madness in ACT. Ironically everything shuts down for Good Friday in Canberra. All the shops shut...panic buying today. I took Janet to the local Coles shop to stock up on supplies and everyone was commenting on how BUSY the shops were. Nah!

The car park was full but there was only 3 people in front of us at the seafood counter (seafood is traditional fare for Good Friday. Heaps upon heaps of mixed seafood and the biggest prawns and squid you have ever seen !).

Compared to Scottish Hogmanay bulk buying the queues are tiny. but in Canberra no one likes to queu (there's hardly anyone here!)

We took Kevin (the dog) to Faddon Pines for a romp then we all headed down to Commonwealth Park at Lake Burley Griffin. This is one of my favourite places. Janet took me there 20 years ago and it's still beautiful !

Autumn is a truly beautiful time in Canberra. 25 degrees. Not too hot, trees changing colour. All the shops full of cardigans ready for winter.

If I could send a message home to sell the house and rabbit and ship the rest out - I would just stay here. Bliss.
