Number 3.

Bought in a second hand shop in Miami.

On a 2 week holiday in Florida when I was 20. A boy/man who also worked at the cinema invited me whilst we were out for a night of dancing (3 different night clubs). Five of us went (to Florida, I think only 3 of us were out that night). I don't think I properly appreciated them at the time.

I remember wearing it with a pair of Dickie's baggy grey corduroys, given to me by a friend who lived in my flat for a little while. They sat on my hips ... or just about. The t-shirt grazes the bottom of my rib cage. A friend, from the holiday, and I drank a lot of vodka (bought in the airport) and went out to a rock club.

It still fits, probably as well as it ever did, though the areas it doesn't cover are wider than they were when I was 20.

It reminds me of the holiday in Florida, it is the first time in my memory that I can remember feeling completely calm and content. I remember lying in a soft sun chair in the (sort of) cage around the pool. Listening to the noise of the night time insects and watching the sun come up. The night before we had all lain on the warm asphalt (it was America). I can't remember what we talked about or if we could see the stars or moon, but I remember feeling happy to be sharing the experience, and to be accepted. I remember the warmth in the dark. It was welcome and unfamiliar.
