just a Moment in the wood

I love the woods.

I went for an adventure in the woods!

I haven't had a walk in the woods since I took ill, over a year ago, and today was so very special. I am not ashamed to say that I said out loud, and several times, "Oh, I love the woods!". It was just a day for it.

At times it was visually overwhelming. There were so many textures, colours, shapes, oddities, me excepting. I was constantly pulling the camera back round and setting up shots. Then it was back to the amble, and back to the script.

You see, this was not just a nature ramble but a chance to learn my lines. I told the trees that Nikolai Michailovitch was dead. Many times I told them, and a few surprised, sensibly dressed walkers as well. That, I admit, was a little bit embarrassing.

I think I overdid it a bit. Not the child-like exuberance though. There's simply too much to be curious, excited and amazed at in life. Nor was it the drama. I've begun to see the connections and flow to the 'lines'.

No, I overdid he walk! These muscles, which the virus overwhelmed so frighteningly, are still weak. I was breathless, a bit chilled, but oh so happy. And happy is such a surprising emotion.
