Last minute
My first "it's 11pm and I don't have a blip" day for ages. Not through any particular lack of time today, but it was an overcast drizzly day and the only times I was inspired to pick up the camera, the bird had flown away by the time I was sorted out. This gloomy weather seemed to bring new birds to the table - including jays opting for the fat balls in the tree just outside the kitchen window, and the menage à trois of collared doves gobbling up the seeds that had fallen on the ground.
Mr B has been following the soap opera lives of the doves for a few days now. There are two females and one male. The male seems to have picked his female, but the other one just won't let it go. A few nights ago he was just getting started on the deed and the branch broke. All looked calmer today, so perhaps they found a sturdier bough.
Also two partridges in the garden. No pear trees though, perhaps that's why they left.
Today was our final (until phase 2 of the renovation) meeting with the electrician to sort out the disputed bill. Happily his total figure was much lower than the one we expected, so we parted happily - he with a cheque clutched in his hand and us with some unexpected spare cash. We immediately rushed to the DIY store and splurged on some skirting board. Oh yes, living the dream.
This is in our 'dining room' (it will lose its '' when it has a table in it instead of just a bunch of junk and gardening equipment). It's the much disputed mirror that our vendor tried to prise of the wall, while Mr B was forceably prising him out of the house. Reflected is part of the bizarre ceiling decoration. I think that may change in phase 2 or 3 of the renovation... But I promise to blip it in all its 'glory' before then.
