Derelict Cooperage

As we pulled up by the Mariner in Millbrook to deliver I saw this building & I knew it was my blip for today. I just jumped down from the lorry and started to take pics when a young man on a tractor stopped by me & smiled. ( I know what you are all thinking - so stop it! :))
I asked him if it was ok to take the pics and post them for you guys to see & explained what Blipfoto was.
He then proceeded to tell me all about this building as I knew nothing about it except that it was beautiful!
Now get this - He said that it was the last part left of King Billy's Brew House :). It was a cooperage where barrels & brewing took place, and was the last building of the row of them that once stood there. The actual Brew House was just a little ways away and was gone completely except for a pile of it's stones peeping through the grass, lying there like sad old bones that no one wanted anymore.
I asked him why they didn't restore the Cooperage and he said it was because it was on a flood plain and it wasn't possible to do it! Yep the sea was way to close! :( .
So there you have it - I took lots of pics from different angles which I'll put on FB. So Mr Flynn you have an old extinct brewery named after you. There has to be a witty reply there somewhere!
