Altamira cave, near Santillana del Mar

Probably the highlight of our trip to Cantabria and Pais Vasco. The cave was declared a world heritage site by the Unesco and although what one sees is a replica, it is really impressive to see what fantastic paintings were done 35000 years ago! A must if you visit northern Spain.
