Desperate Dan
As the good weather had broken today (as forecast), we planned a trip to Dundee as there are a couple of large shopping centres with enough to keep a teenage girl interested in for a few hours.
The gents of the family had soon bored with the female decision making and browsing process, so headed off out to find out more about the voyages of Captain Scott aboard the sailing ship Discovery, which is moored on the quay at Dundee amidst the devastation preceding another redevelopment of the banks of the Tay incorporating the proposed Victoria and Albert Museum.
We found the statue of the comic book figure Desperate Dan of the Dandy a useful landmark at which to rendezvous for lunch at Fisher and Donaldson's cafe. A light lunch as we had a trip to Anstruther to make on the way back to Crail.
