Arataki Visitor Centre

Aratkai Visitor Centre, Waitakere Ranges, West Auckland.
The Waitakere Ranges were, I believe, a kauri forest that was logged out many years ago and has since regenerated with several varieties of tree fern and all manner of other sub-tropical trees, shrubs and plants.
We lived just round the corner from the Visitor Centre and in fact still own the house! One heck of a contrast to the centre of Norwich!
Visitors to the centre are welcomed by this spectacular piece of Maori carving.
