Ficus macrophylla

I discovered this magical tree shortly after moving to New Zealand. It sits atop a hill in Mount Richmond Domain, just a minute from our house. The picture doesn't do justice to its size. It stretches its arms way out wide in all directions, low and parallel to the ground. It's like a different world under its canopy. Very powerful, very quiet. A spot I will never forget.
