The Hilton of Cadboll Stone

The Hilton of Cadboll Stone is a big slab of sandstone carved in the ninth century. The original stone is now in the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh. What you see here is a replica, carved in 2000 by Barry Grove.

We were alerted to its existence by a video at the Glenmorangie Distillery just down the road from here. Part of the brand imagery for Glenmorangie was inspired by the design on this stone.
