Why the Long Face?
Well, for a start, we're on holiday this week - last week we had the best weather in March ever; (sun &record breaking temperatures) and this morning the Met Office issue a severe weather warning for the area. For snow.
Another reason for the long face is seeing what manky buggers some people around the Wee County are. A short walk today, in the cold and miserable rain, in which, in addition to the usual discarded green bags full of dog shit, there were drink bottles and cans, clothes, sleeping bags, pizza boxes and piles of other litter left at folk's arses along the river bank that wasn't there when I was last down on Friday. Whilst I think it's great folk are out and about enjoying the place it's a damn shame that some of the less than appreciative numpties amongst them think it's OK to spoil it for everyone else and leave the clearing up to someone else. Shameful.
On top of that, one of the other local beauty spots nearby that we're regular visitors to is was closed yesterday after a young girl was allegedly attacked there on Saturday night, with the police underwater search unit in attendance the past two days.
Aye, I guess all that March sunshine's just too much too soon for some of the locals. Maybe we should just restrict it to the few days in July/August that we're used too; at least when it's raining around here it's a bit safer to get out and about.
