Invisible
The largest man made structure in Iceland is invisible - because it lies under a fjord. It's a tunnel, 5,77 km long and 3750 m under the sea, dug in 1996-1998 with two big tunnel diggers which started from opposite sides of the fjord and met in the middle under the fjord and only differed a few cm.
A grandchild of my brother in law was confirmed today and they live in Akranes on the other side of the Faxafloi-bay so we had to take the tunnel. It's 50 km through the tunnel and a extra 60 km if you don't.
The upper picture is from this side on the way to the confirmation and the lower one from the other side when we came back tonight.
