Southerness
1. We pick a beach and head off. Southerness. An odd little coastal spot with a hotel made for out of season DPJ and a lighthouse. We pooter along, crunching on the shells.
2. On to New Abbey. An impossibly pretty spot. Gorgeous. Blooming. Lunch is a ploughmans - local chutney and not so local bikers.
3. And so to Gatehouse of Fleet. A sleepy hollow. We find the playing fields and discover just how much see-saws have improved with time. I get stuck in the chute and the swings are taken. Ice creams and poo sticks.
4. Nothing for it but to take our seats at the Selkirk Arms. Fish then lemon meringue pie.
5. And then I have to go. Up the road in the dark and on my own. Jealous doesn't even cover it.
