Sunday Afternoon

We took a picnic up to Newbiggin Bay this afternoon. It was sunny and mild so we sat on a bench overlooking the North Sea and watched the sea coal gatherers bring their booty back in sacks. Getting ready for next winter I guess!
Might be back for some myself, for the stove, next low tide.
The couple on the rocks are 5 metre high bronze statues standing on a tall steel platform which is 350metres out in the bay, on top of a rocky breakwater. (I have hidden the breakwater and steel platform with these rocks)
The artist is Sean Henry and the installation is called "Couple". Its amazing..... I will get closer next time and show them off properly.
