The Adventures of Pippin

Retail therapy

Poor Pippin. Now, not only does she still have conjunctivitis, but she's also developed a limp again. She keeps forgetting though, so every so often there's a loud yelp as she tries to scratch her ear with her sore leg, or run after something in the garden.

So, we wanted to rest her leg on Saturday, so didn't take her for a walk (much to her chagrin), but instead decided to take her for a bit of retail therapy at Pets at Home.

It was hilarious! She was in seventh heaven, no doubt about it.

If you haven't been, Pets at Home is amazing because you can actually take your dog in with you! We'd been meaning to go with Pippin for ages to try on some new collars for her as her nice leather one broke. I just love the idea of your dog being able to try things on before you by them. Like a human!

Unfortunately, they didn't have any of the nice ones in her size, but that didn't make any difference to Pippin: she thought shopping was AMAZING!

She saw lots of floppy-eared rabbits, and I have a nice picture of her looking at them through the perspex. She woofed at one in a separate hutch as well, and the poor thing jumped in alarm, because it's face was right next to her's when she did it.

She got lots of pats from fellow shoppers, and met a few other dogs as well.

And then... she found two biscuits on the floor and got another one from one of the shop assistants when she wandered off round the corner!

Obviously, we kept her on the lead, but she did get a bit of a free rein!

Just imagine if you let a dog loose in a pet shop!!!

She doesn't usually get a lot of treats, and was most put out the other day when the vet didn't give her one, so it wasn't so bad that she got some!

And it helped make up for not getting a walk.
