Silent Spring

L and I went for a a long bike ride and walk in the Amsterdamse Bos, which is part park, part nature area on the edge of the city.

I had such a range photos to choose from -- speedboat racing on the rowing channel, the peacock which suddenly flew up in front of us onto a fence at the pancake house, two horses galloping across a field, and L looking pensively out the window while we drank a cup of coffee.

But since we spent most of the time walking through the quiet, natural part, I opted for this one. it wasn't the sunniest moment -- some of the photos were bright green and full of spring spirit. But I somehow liked the peacefulness of this one, partly as a reminder that springtime in northern Europe still has much in common with winter.
