A sad day for Alex

My heart bled for Alex today. He learned that after 6 months of hard work and training he did not get into the rep cricket team. He did so well at the trials in batting, bowling and fielding and his coach was certain he would get in. His best friend made the grade which made the disappointment all the more acute. Tears welled up in his eyes and I felt sick in my stomach. He's going to try out AFL tomorrow so he can put his bat away for a while........I LOVE YOU ALEX, mummy. xxxxxxx.
