Mosaic of Colour.

Pulmonaria Officinalis (Lungwort) is easy to get hold of and cheap too. And once established it soon makes a good spread. But what makes it a big fave of mine is the extraordinary mix of colours in the blooms of one plant. Some blooms bud as bright cerise, fading to a lighter pink as they mature; others bud a light purple, fading to a lighter blue/mauve. So on any one plant at any one time there can be blooms in variations of pink, and variations of mauve and blue, creating a lovely mosaic of colour. Added to which the lovely big, heart shaped leaves are spotted with paler green/grey, and ornamental in their own right. To me that's a pretty impressive quality in a plant - which makes it a must-have in my opninion. A great plant indeed.
