Crash test dummy

On the way from The British Art Fair at the Royal College of Art the Fulham road today I dropped into the Science Museum.

The million volt particle accelerator was still there sitting manfully by the stack of cars, now superceded again, this time by the Large Hadron Collider at Cern, switched on for the first time today.

Behind it, the cash test dummies which I'm always compelled to look at.

Dating from as late as the 1970's they look like large mangled dolls a child might play with. However their bodies are packed with sensors to detect the effects of impact.
