Like clockwork

I spotted this Bakelite eight day Smiths wall clock in the window of the clock repairer on Holyrood Road. It dates from the 1940s or 50s and is the kind of clock that would have been in offices and schools up and down the country. I thought about it for a bit and then went back later in the day to buy it.
