Dog Days and Life

In the Winter of his Years

Been to the cinema with my mum and a friend this afternoon and left my two dogs with my dad and the others.

One of the others is little Hal (short for Halitosis) a crossbreed both my mum and I found approx six years ago on the visit to the gym, which must make him at least 13 or 14 years old. He give up on life, had rotten teeth an ulcerated and infected face, was dirty and riddled with fleas and had sat in the sun all day refusing water and growling at all who came near him....except us who patted the back of the car and in he jumped....he was only staying one night!

After losing faith and trust in the world in general, it took about two years to bring him round and take his muzzle off out on walks.

The first half of his life may not have been very nice but the years he has spent with us have been spent in the lap of luxury...and he continues to do so, deaf and now a little wobbly and bony, but he's loved by all and now enjoys the winter of his life loved and in comfort.
