Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

Carousel Horse

This is Lynda's carousel horse on the mantel above the fireplace in her and Bob's formal dining room. This room was a lovely place to have dinner this evening.

Dinner was served at Bob & Lynda's home. Altogether there were eight of us -- our friend Cyndi, and also Mike who went to high school with Bob and has been widowed now for about 18 months, and another couple we had never met before Bill & Dolores. Bill went to high school with Bob and Mike a million years ago in Yorba Linda. So we had a trio of guys who all reminisced about the good old days. The food was delicious and the conversation was fun.

We enjoyed a lovely barbecued dinner. Bob & Lynda served steak, chicken, and sausage. Dolores & Bill brought a delcious salad. Mike brought wine. Cyndi brought the best tasting homemade baked beans. We brought dessert.

After a full day with students I was exhausted. So we planned to not stay late. Cyndi had choir practice to attend so she left us early. As we were leaving, Bill & Dolores headed for home in Yorba Linda, and Mike headed for home which is high in the hills above Temecula. We headed for home which is just across town from Bob & Lynda's place.

This has been a good day.

Good night from Southern California.
