Midland Grand Hotel, designed George Gilbert Scott

The old Midland Grand Hotel, was part of the St Pancras station in London.

For many years it lay abandoned, but was refurbished and reopened last year.

The outside is spectacular - but I was really disappointed when I went inside for a coffee last autumn.

I went to London today to meet up with two good friends from university. One I have seen from time to time, and a few times recently, but the other I had not seen for 42 years.

It may have been a long time but it only seemed like yesterday - and we had an amazing day. We must definitely repeat it.
