Bad Hair Day
This little character stayed put under our front yard shrubbery all afternoon today. Now that the snow has gone the unchanged white coat makes him(or her) highly visible to predators. It must be very tough when the need for new hair colour is a matter of life and death.
My crocuses should be putting in an appearance very close to this spot in the yard. The jackrabbits regard the new buds as a delicacy. They probably watch for them almost as eagerly as I do. Possibly I won't see them flower this spring because I draw the line at sleeping out there beside them, even in a fur coat.
