The Dinner Bell

Before there were telephones, in rural areas dinner bells were used to call for help. When I was young Mom told me to go to the shop and get Dad for breakfast. Since she used the bell to call him for dinner, I decided to ring it for breakfast. Long story short.........Mom had to put extra biscuits in the oven for all the neighbors who came to 'help'. The pull rope was raised to adult height.
