Jump!

Ben discovered the joys of jumping down the shingle today.

I discovered that you can in fact get sunburnt in March.

We all caught the sun a little today. It being March, I have no idea where the suncream is, the sunhats are, or the whereabouts of my sunglasses (which Steve is a little irritated about because he apparently found them recently). Charley's colouration looks a little like Robin's mask (as in, Batman and...). You can tell where his little hat came down to, and you can tell that he appears to have been chewing the wrap in his sleep... Sorry Charley!

I have been a picture of domesticity today. Complete domestic goddess. Ok I didn't do any sexy sultry baking but I have totally been on a roll with regards running the household! It's amazing what you can do when a) you're not shattered, and b) Mr Sunshine wakes up at 7am... Mr Sunshine really was quite a lovely chatterbox this morning. So we got up and dealt with the laundry and breakfast and lunch etc before anyone else was up.

We even had time to play in the garden and make a birthday card before toddler group this morning. Now that's efficient :)

This afternoon we spent getting a little burnt at the beach, celebrating a special little girl's first birthday. Ben played throw-a-rock-run with a couple of other boys, throwing big stones at the sea and running before the waves got them! Lots of fun. Ben didn't get a great many into the sea because he was too busy shrieking and running away :-)

Steve had rugby training tonight but we managed to get dinner on the way before he went out. I asked Ben if I cooked sausages and pasta with cheese sauce would he eat some and although his immediate response was "no" it very quickly became a yes and he helped cook by climbing on Steve's shoulders and generally making Steve get in the way! But at least he's eaten something today at last.

I've put the boys to bed, had a shower, done the washing up, got the nappies washed and dried, been inspired, felt the pressure of next month's messy mama crafts, received a wailing Charley (funny how sometimes you can really hear what the 'words' behind the crying are. I distinctly heard panic, mummy's not here, where's mummy, I thought you'd all disappeared (as Steve approached), daddy daddy daddy you're here I'm not alone, but daddy I was alone, where's mummy, I want mummy, why can't I have mummy (I was injecting insulin), MUMMY mummy mummy *silence* as he snuggled in to me), and am considering going to bed before Ben wakes up....
