squirrel games

I saw the whole thing. First the squirrel sat up on its hind legs in the middle of the road just begging the cat in the nearby yard to come chase it. Then a car came down the street and the squirrel did not budge until the last moment. And at that last moment the cat shot into the street and barely missed being hit by the car! Then the cat slunk back to its yard. At that point the nasty squirrel sat up on its side of the road and chided the cat again. When the squirrel noticed I was watching, it hid flat as a pancake on the lowest branch of an evergreen. But I saw it and gave it a good talking to about playing in the street.
