Sweet Child of Mine

There is no way I can do justice to our day today. There were so many wonderful Elizabethisms, but I cannot remember them. I just know she had me in stitches!

We went to the loch and park for most of the day. She's never bothered that there are hardly ever any ducks at the loch. She's happy to throw and eat her bread.

On the way out of the loch, she started looking around on the ground, picking up stones etc. She said she was looking for treasure. At a post, she went over and hugged it and said "like daddy does". This is because we've often found geocaches at the bottom of similar posts.

In the park she was swinging in her swing, and she told me "you go on other swing mummy and I swing on my own". So I did as I was told. It was lovely both of us (all three of us, as Rebecca was in her carrier) swinging away together.

We had a picnic. All our sandwiches were in one tub. Elizabeth had 2 pieces, then put the lid on it and told me that I wasn't allowed to have any more. I stole another piece out of it, and she actually got angry with me!

After that, she strolled back to the slide with a banana in her hand. And very confidently climbed up the steps with the banana still in her hand. When she saw me going for the grapes she came running back.

At this point we went to the children's centre for one of their playgroups. Elizabeth played with a little boy called Austin. She picked up his name really quickly, I didn't even know what he was called until she started singing a song about Austin.

Back to the loch/park afterwards. This time there were other children around. One was a little girl called Daisy with her grandparents. They used to go to the music class with us a while back, so they were familiar.

Elizabeth followed Daisy all around the park and kept telling us all that they were doing things together. Luckily Daisy enjoyed playing with her too. Sometimes the older ones don't like a little one following them around. I did find it funny though that Elizabeth called her grandad grandad as if it was his name.

Rebecca giggled everytime Daisy jumped or laughed. She does seem to love other children.

Lovely, lovely day!
