Maureen at the shop
Today is my school day and on the way home I called in to see my friend Maureen. She runs this little shop in our village and sells (good quality) second hand books , bits and pieces of china and plants. She rumages in charity shops and car boot sales for interesting bits and pieces to sell and also people in the village drop things in to her that they no longer want. Her speciality is railway books . This was once a busy railway village. Most people either worked on the building or running of the railway or were related to somebody who was involved with the railway. Until Mr Beeching came along with his axe you could get any where inthe country from this little village. Times change and what were once railway workers cottages ( we even had a hotel) are now homes for people many of whom know nothing of the hive of indrustry that once was here.
