Parrot Alley in bloom
Tuesday
The day dawned clear and sunny, but quite cold - the temperatures had dipped into the upper thirties overnight. However, with the sunshine, it warmed up into the mid 60s by mid afternoon, very pleasant, and somewhat more normal than the low eighties we experienced several days last week. We were talking to our eldest daughter, Jen, over the weekend. She lives in Houston, Texas, but apparently one day last week we had higher temperatures here in Ohio than they had in Houston, as they had cloud and storms that day, keeping the temperatures down.
I was at church again this morning, this time for Knitting Fellowship. Harper Hall, where we usually meet, was a hive of activity this morning, as the deacons were assembling over 300 Easter baskets to go to the Helping Hands Pantry families in the Peebles, OH area - this is one of our annual ministries. From church, I went to the "Y" to go swimming, then I stopped off in Montgomery to get new batteries for our watches - both Roger's and mine had gone at about the same time. The blossom may be past its best, but it still made Parrot Alley in downtown Montgomery quite a picture against the blue sky. Finally, I had to stop in at the supermarket to do some grocery shopping.
