Photo Exhibition, Chased by Light (and Shade)
The Bell Museum at the University of Minnesota has an exhibit of all Minnesotan Jim Brandenburg's 90 photographs from his Chased by Light project and book. Jim Brandenburg, renowned for his Minnesotan timberwolf photographs, gave himself a challenge: for ninety days between the autumnal equinox and the winter solstice, he would make only one photograph a day.
I can tell you, every single one of his photographs was a cut above my very best work. They are stunning.
Ironically the bronze sculpture of a Minnesotan timberwolf attacking a huge bull moose is a permanent installation in front of the museum. I couldn't resist the scene in front of the exhibition of Jim Brandenburg's work. I own his beautiful book Brother Wolf.
