A letter

Today the Royal Mail announced new pricing for postage stamps - are you kidding me?? 60p for a first class letter. It's almost cheaper for me to post a letter to my penpal in Australia than it is to post a letter to my friend in Nottinghamshire - how on earth does that work??

Anyway. This is a letter I found from an old pen pal in Germany. Is the art of a handwritten letter dying? If and when I'm a grandma will my grandchildren even know what a letter and a postage stamp is or will they be items in a museum protected by glass?
