bee- ing peachy...

...in a peach blossom

hip-hip hooray... the peach tree has blossoms on it... i am doing the happy skippy dance - 'cuz this is actually the first time in a long time i've actually seen flowers on the great old tree - in the backyard... whether this means there'll be fruit produced or not - we'll have to wait and see... lately it seems it hasn't mattered... the great tree has had a mind of its own...

used to be it was old faithful in giving up the largest of peaches you've ever seen - every year... in fact, there was so much fruit, i learned how to can - making peach jam, peach salsa, peach butter - so the peaches didn't go to waste... in addition to giving them away to everyone we knew... after several years though - the great tree just stopped - no more peaches... it hadn't died - just no fruit. 2 years later, another crop... the next year - nothing... so who knows what will happen this fall.

for now, i know there were no buds the other day - suddenly here they are in full blossom... with little bees getting their fill - seeing that makes for...
