Mobile Fish Tanks

Our walk today was up to Glencorse reservoir, a long incline on mettled road from Flotterstone, in bright sunshine.

It seems the trout fishing season begins on 31st March and the reservoir is being restocked in readiness. We watched this being done; a lorry with three large tanks pulled up at a suitable position, a big fat tube was attached to the tank with the other end in the water, the tap turned on and the fish slid straight into the reservoir. They clearly enjoyed their freedom, leaping and splashing as they spread out into deeper water. We overheard arrangement being made for a further three tanks to be delivered tomorrow.
