Locked in

I took a little time to sit by the canal today and enjoy nature as I have been fuming since last weeks budget.
The Chancellor is continually making moves to destroy the green economy and any potemtial for jobs in that area. Not happy with cutting all feed in tarrifs to green energy claiming it was costing too much even though there has been 7 times as much money given to the fossil fuel industry in subsidies in this country, he then gives the oil industry a £30billion pound tax break to invest in new exploration and a £300billion tax break for decommissioning of old rigs.
So frightening off investment from renewables is one thing. Not a surprise as his number one advisor is Nigel Lawson who heads up the anti climate change lobby funded by a £300million fund GWPF ........????? he refuses to say who as the GWPF is the fund is listed as a charity (wtf???? where is the charity aspect??)

However outside England the Chinese are still investing in Scottish wind farms and Denmark have changed their plan over the weekend from a previous 30% of electricity from wind to 50%. (no wonder the Scots want independence)

For me least progressive move that DECC and the Chancelor have done is to lock in emissions limits from power stations until 2045. The standards are set higher than gas power stations currently emit and lower than coal. So carbon capture will be required on coal not gas. This standard also does not meet our commitments with the EU framework to reduce emission but 2020 and 2030 respectively. Locked into fossil fuels, locled out of Europe and legally liable.
