Gazania Nest
The bud forms, the flower opens but its what happens next which surprised me.
The spent flower slowly droops, bowing its head as the petals gently wrap around the centre of the head, they become hard and almost brittle forming a nest for the emerging delicate seedheads, which then drift away in the breeze. How cool is that!
Another day in the garden, the sun was hot and so was the breeze but I powered on and achieved a bit more. Its always a good feeling.
I'll leave you with this laiden nest with all its delicate seedheads sparkling in the sunlight - a little bit of Gazania magic :)
