Windy Miller
This is Chesterton Windmill... it's not far from where Dave grew up, and as part of his MA he did a project on it...
Dave discovered...
It's a unique windmill in terms of structure, as it is made of stone, with the arches at the bottom. It also has a unique mechanism, in particular the arrangement of the lantern pillion wallower (I'll be testing you later, so if you know what this is, then please write in... )
and it dates back to 1632, with speculation that it was built as a landscape feature as well as a working windmill...
But most important of all, we have a small scale model of it in our back garden, courtesy of Dave's mum : )
