In sunshine and in shadow

The unexpected spring weather we have in Scotland provided plenty of sunshine and shadow in this snap, taken from the Beith Street bridge over the River Kelvin.
This area used to be known as the Breadbasket of Glasgow because it was in mills lining the river here that grain was turned into flour, then into bread.
Nowadays the one mill that remains has been converted into flats and the river is an altogether more tranquil place.
