Flowering currant flower bud.
The day did not start well as Mr A decided at 0625 hours that he really did need to go to Addenbrookes. He hurt his back on Friday, but as is usual with him he decided it would get better by itself. However, things got decidedly worse and he was worried that there were further problems related to his recent back operation. I had several student telephone tutorials booked for this morning, so our daughter, who works at Addenbrookes took him to A and E. He is now on his way home, dosed up on morphine and told to rest, some hope!
At lunch time I decided to do my blip and managed to rip a hole in a decent cardigan and then knelt in the grass, so I got the knees of my trousers damp; there was also some deer poo and by the time I had discovered this, the bee I was trying to photograph had long gone.
Today's blip is a pink flower from a flowering currant bush. For those who do not have these bushes, they do not produce currants, they are just decorative. If you look large it looks as though it has been sprinkled with icing sugar, but it is just as it was in the garden.
Now I plan to have a peaceful afternoon until later this evening when I have some more student tutorials.
