Mt. Baker, Washington
Iconic Puget Sound scene: looking across Fidalgo Bay to Mt. Baker with seagull in foreground.
On the second leg of our journey, in Anacortes with Laurie's sister. We had a delightful walk/scoot on the Tommy Thompson trail along the bay. I saw a couple of kingfishers, heron, pintails, loons, varied thrush, and, of course, lots of crows and gulls. The concrete portion of the bridge was littered with clam shells - the gulls drop them from a height to crack them open on the hard surface. Clever birds.
Have a look LARGE.
