Calçots

It is very common in Catalonia to organise a "calçotada", where you eat lots calçots, that is a variety of green onion, which are barbecued (kind of) and dipped in a delicious romesco sauce. Calçotadas are held between the end of winter and March or April, where calçots are consumed massively.

Today my family and myself went with a big group of friends to such a Calçotada to a wonderful place, an old farm house or Masia, one hour far from Barcelona. It is so typical from here that everyone who visits Barcelona should try it at least once!
