i heard an explosion.
the building shuddered.

that moment of immediate panic.

followed by the relief as the next blast coincides with a fiery, though friendly, illumination in the sky.

as far as I know there were know fireworks planned, but there they were. and not the home fun, toy variety. they put on quite a legitimate show. i was running about in my slippers with my tripod trying to snap a few shots.
