Baglady and Tickety Boo
Another glorious day. It was light until 7.40pm and we've already had our second BBQ of the season.
Told my other half (who was glued to the Grand Prix) I'd be half an hour; two and a half hours later I reappeared. The Thames at Abingdon was heaving.
In the right background you get a glimpse of Abingdon Bridge (officially known as Burford Bridge). The tall white building on the the bridge is the famous 18th century Nag's Head pub. Mentioned in several classic books it's built on an island and is a wonderful summer pub. Sadly it closed last January but I just read in the local paper that it's going to reopen :)
In the left background the crane is towering over the Old Gaol, built in 1811 and now being redeveloped. It was once the county jail for Berkshire.
