Life through the lens...

Pen-y-ghent

What a glorious day it turned out to be!
Set off at 8.30am in thick fog and temp. 5c.
Was foggy all the way up into the dales and quite thick when we arrived at our meeting place. The lovely little village of Langcliffe, just above Settle. ( took about one and a half hours to get there)
We were surprised to see many of our walking group had already arrived. Everyone hoping that soon the sun would break through.
Well after about half an hour the sun did come out as we started climbing up the hill side.

It turned out to be a wonderful day. (won't say too hot!)
We walked from Langcliffe over the river (saw my first dipper this year) and up over the hills to Feizor ( very tiny hamlet but with a superb tea room!)
Then climbed again over the top and down to Stainforth and a pleasant walk back along the river.( some teenage boys were diving in the waterfall!)

The views today were amazing.
This one is of Pen-y-ghent. The smallest of the Three Peaks. 2,277ft high.
I liked the way the dry stone wall followed the contours of the land.Heading down towards the valley.

What a joy it was to be out in such beautiful countryside on a wonderful day like today.

We all enjoyed the walk and a drink in the pub afterwards!

Hope you have all had a great day too.
